7 ways to manage your locus of #CONTROL effectively to grow your Business

Once upon a time there was a farmer and he had a horse. He loved his horse so much because it supports the farmer’s family. It was his pride and joy as it helps the farmer to earn money. Until one day the horse ran away. The village heard about it and all keep on saying -Oh my god! Your favourite horse, which you love so much but it ran away. That is so bad.

The farmer looked at them and said-Hmm, maybe

The very next day the horse came back but with 4 wild horses. The village said-Oh my god, we heard what happened, now you have 5 horses, what a bit of good luck, that is so good

And the farmer looked back at them and said – Hmm, maybe

On the next day, the farmer’s son tries to train one of the wild horses. While in the training the horse kicked him off and he broke his leg in three places. When the news spread in the neighbourhood, everyone visited the farmer and said – Oh my god, these are the stupid horses, look what they did to your son. That is so bad.

And the farmer said – Hmm, Maybe

And a few days later, the military comes to the village looking for the young men to draft into the army. They gave one look to the farmer’s son and said:We can’t draft him, he has got a broken leg. Everyone in the village congratulates the farmer that he had his young son with him. Oh my god, you have your son, our sons, they get drafted, you are so lucky, that is so good.

And the wise farmer still replied them the same – Hmm, Maybe

My learning from the farmer’s story:

#1. It is so easy to develop negative mindsets when something bad happens to us. But “Good” or “Bad” who knows. What is negative or positive?

#2. When one can’t see the full picture. something bad may be good in the long run, who knows.

Last night before going to bed, I categorized the various aspects of my business into 3 broad categories:

#1 – Things which I cannot control

#2 – Things which I can Control

#3 – Things which I need not Control

I found that category 2 is much bigger than category 1. Category 3 doesn’t bother me. If you look at your business also carefully, You too will find that it that way. That is how we may look at the silver lining.

Here are 7 ways to manage your locus of #CONTROL effectively to grow your business.
